Margaret: I begin a reading by having you focus on a question in your mind while you shuffle the tarot cards, and then cut them into three equal piles. Client: Any question? Just one? What if I have several questions? Margaret: Several questions are good—and we’ll get to them. But focus your mind on just one to begin with. Maybe choose the most pressing question you have today. Tarot cards, and my interpretation of them, answer one question at a time. However, your questions are interrelated—just as they are in life. So, one answer will provide clarity to your other questions. Make sense? Client: Okay. Let’s see…alright, I’ve got it. But I don’t want any bad news…like I’m going to die, or get in a car crash, or… Margaret: No, no, no. This is not a gypsy reading from an opera! You’re here to get some clarity on an issue in your life, right? Then by asking your question, I can help you see further and deeper into your challenge and show you some solutions you may not have thought of. Readings open you up to possibilities and make you feel empowered—like you can handle the crisis or disappointment or let go of the fear. Client: Okay. I think I understand. I’ve never done this before—I mean, I have, but it was at a psychic fair and there were a lot of people swarming around and I only had a few minutes with the…the psychic. In fact, she didn’t use cards at all; she just held my car keys in her hand and closed her eyes and… Margaret: That’s called psychometry—it’s a quick and dirty kind of reading. At a fair, you need to be quick and focused. But she wasn’t able to give you anything in depth, right? Client: That’s right! She pretty much just told me what was going on currently. She was right on, but there wasn’t much about my future or my past. Margaret: Well, today’s reading will be different, I guarantee you! I see you’ve finished cutting the cards…Now, what’s your first question? Client: Why do you use cards? Why are the cards upside down? Margaret: That’s your question? I use a Tarot deck because the pictures are symbolic of our psyche—they’re symbols that speak to the subconscious mind, like dreams do. They show me different aspects of your question and then I interpret them to you. Each card has layers of meaning and its placement in the layout shows the role of its message to your question? If you want to learn more about Tarot, I teach classes on it—it’s always a fun class! Client: Really? I could learn to do this? Margaret: Of course! Everybody’s psychic to the degree they will allow themselves to be. My classes just bring it out of the person. Client: Okay. So, my question is: Will I get more money soon and marry the man of my dreams? Margaret: That’s two questions. Focus on one. Client: Sorry! Okay, will I get more money soon? Margaret: Well…it looks like you’re in a dead end job. There’s no more money with this job—you’ll have to leave it within the next three months, too. If you expand your horizons to include self-employment the money will come in. Client: Really? Self-employment? I’ve actually been thinking about that! But I don’t know what kind of business to start. Margaret: From the cards, I’d say you have a talent in showing people something new—could be teaching, or sales, or becoming a professional speaker, or…this card shows you’ll be traveling while you do this activity. Client: Really? I’d love to travel! But sales? Margaret: It’s not door-to-door sales. It could be training people on products they buy—like a corporate trainer. It could be hosting seminars…there’s a lot of possibilities here. This card shows you will have lots of help and support once you figure out which direction to take this talent in. Research it and see what appeals to you. One thing will lead to another and you’ll discover what it is you’re here to contribute. I will also tell you that the sooner you get out of your current situation, the better your reference from them will be. Client: Why? Am I going to get fired? Margaret: The lesson in this is for you to act for your own benefit, not to wait until they play their hand. This card shows there’s something hidden going on at your job. You want to be proactive so you don’t have to make a default decision. That’s been your pattern, right? You wait too long, hoping things will turn around, and by the time you muster up your courage to act, the opportunity is passed and you’re left on the street. I see lots of “starting over” energy here. Client: You’re right. That’s been the story of my life…But I couldn’t see any choices at the time—what opportunities? What am I missing? I don’t want to get fired! Margaret: This time you can do it differently. This time you know you have a choice and you know you have a time-frame and you know you have other opportunities out there waiting for you to claim them. But it’s up to you to claim them. What will break this pattern is if you act, rather than re-act. That means, you put yourself first, you put a value on yourself, you ask yourself, “What do I want to do with my life?” Client: But I thought that was being selfish! I was raised that you had to stick with a job, any job, until something better was offered to you. Margaret: Yes, that’s what we were all raised with. And it’s created a lot of stressed-out, unhappy, worker bees that get nowhere. Books have been written about it. I call it “Perfecting Cinderella.” If you think you’re done “Perfecting Cinderella” you can move on; you can move out of the broom closet and into the penthouse. It’s up to you and it requires changing your beliefs about what you think you can do, be, and have in this lifetime. Client: All that’s in these cards? Margaret: This is my interpretation of the cards you chose in answer to your question. Now, next question. | ||||||||
